In a couple of weeks, my husband and I will be heading down to New Orleans for a very short 3-day trip. To prepare for our little visit to the "big easy", I'm doing a video series of packing and travel tips to 1) make sure I get everything done and 2) give you ideas to make your next trip a little more organized. The first video in this series is what makeup I am bringing, and how you too can pack everything you need into a teeny tiny sandwich size zip-top bag. Enjoy! xoxo
I am a smart shopper. In my family, it's actually kind of a joke. I've been called cheap, but I feel that there is such a negative connotation to that word, that I prefer "thrifty". You can find some amazing bargains at thrift stores, dollar stores, in clearance bins, at yard sales, on Ebay... the list goes on and on. There are some things that I refuse to buy "cheaply", like food, organic beauty products that I can't make myself, and certain paper products. But other than that, I'm generally not picky and love a good bargain! I wanted to check out the Dollar Tree because I had seen numerous videos on items that are good to get there (cleaning supplies, organizing bins, vases, wrapping paper, greeting cards, etc.), and there is one fairly close to where I live. So this morning, I ventured out, and decided to do a haul video on what I picked up. I spent $19 (plus tax) on 19 items. Not too shabby! Watch the video below to see what I got, and happy bargain shopping!!
There is nothing more gratifying than checking something off of a to-do list. I like making daily, monthly, and weekly goals to keep myself on track with what I need to be doing, and to celebrate what I was able to accomplish. Unfortunately, I tend to weave in and out of this routine, so this is habit #8 in my 15 habits for the new year.
To encourage you to make goal setting a priority, I have created a weekly goal chart for you to print off, for FREE! The download is a PDF at the bottom of this post. This printable would be great for weekly chores, tasks for your children, cleaning routines, as an exercise chart or practice log, or anything else that you can dream up! So, my dear readers, print, and customize however you see fit!
